Alexandra Maria Lara has been an Romanian/German film and television actress for over a decade. Alexandra is well-known for her roles in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz early. She was a lead actress in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the television film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. The film won an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were also Oscar-nominated. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several important international and national productions. These projects include the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. She also served in the jury panel of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
