Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21, 1983) is an acclaimed American actor. Most notably, she was the character Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After her parents divorced, she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first part as Rachel's Room's main character the web-based video show Rachel's Room in 2001. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 for her performance as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. In 2004, Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost on which she was the main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace wanted to focus on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised the role as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice in Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role in Lost for two episodes, including the finale of the series. She also was a guest in the sixth season of Californication. She is Faith as a girl who is a muse for the stars, and draws the eye of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). Gyllenhaal is a member of her family, and is the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor roles in several of his films. She also appeared together with her brother in popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). Her next roles were in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind in 2002, as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received critical praise for her leading roles in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606) Both of which garnered their Golden Globe Award nods. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received more attention for her role as Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). She received a nomination as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom in Crazy Heart. She subsequently starred in the dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee as well as the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). Other roles she has played includes Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller) and actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018) as well as the role of the Kindergarten teacher. Gyllenhaal began her career as screenwriter and director in 2021, when she directed and wrote the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter.
